There are a number of options for unwanted IT equipment. The easiest way to get rid of a computer or monitor is to have it collected for free by Haringey Council by phoning 020 8885 7700 but this is only suitable if you have a front garden to collect it from. It is not permitted to leave items on pavements to be taken away.
Electrical and electronic equipment can be taken to a local not-for-profit company called Maxitech.
Maxitech are based in the Chocolate Factory, 5 Clarendon Road, Wood Green London N22 6XJ
Haringey Council supports this venture by supplying Maxitech with IT equipment from the Reuse and Recycling Centres and the free white goods collection service. Obsolete IT equipment from the council's own departments is also delivered to Maxitech.
